Obtain Birth Certificate in Qatar
The Supreme Council of Health issues birth certificates for children born in Qatar.
Children born to foreign nationals are not entitled to Qatari nationality.
Expatriate parents are responsible for registering their child’s birth with their respective country’s embassy.
All birth in Qatar should be registered at the Women’s Hospital, next to Hamad General Hospital on Al Rayyan Road.
– Application Process
Follow these steps to obtain a birth certificate for your newborn child:
- Once the child is born, obtain two letters from the hospital.
- Bring the two letters, along with a copy of the vaccination card, both parents’ passports, copies of your Residence Permits (or entry visas) and marriage contract to the Women’s Hospital.
- Complete any required paperwork.
- Pay appropriate fees.
The birth certificate can be issued on the same day of registration.
Additional Information: A fee of QR20 will be charged for each birth certificate.
